Team Building Events

We’ve had corporate teams like Klarna, Freenow and others take diverse team-building courses in our space and can make sure our clay event fits your specific needs.

What to expect

Your team doesn’t need any experience to join us in a team-building course! You just need to arrive ready to get your hands a little messy and be curious enough to try something new.

Our teacher will give you a thorough introduction to working on the wheel or setting up a hand-building session with clay. You’ll learn skills that will be crucial if you decide to continue with ceramics.

What do courses include?

For wheel-throwing workshops, the teacher will show you how to:

• Prepare the clay before using it
• Position the clay on the wheel, and centre it before you begin
• Turn the wheel at the right speed to get things moving upward!
• Pull up ‘walls’ to make a cylinder: the foundational building block of most clay work
• Use tools to help you throw on the wheel, or shape the clay while throwing
• Those of you with some experience can use the time to practice and get personal help and tips from our teacher to improve your wheel technique

For hand-building or sculpture workshops, the teacher will show you how to:

• Prepare the clay before using it
• Use various handbuilding or sculpture techniques to get different effects from your clay
• Make a plan for what you’d like to create and decide which technique is best
• Use tools to help you shape the clay, create angles, make textures and carve patterns
• Those of you with some experience can use the time to practice and get personal help and tips from our teacher to improve your hand-building and sculpture technique

Team-building course duration

Our team-building courses typically have the following format:

• Single session workshop (1 day)
• 3-4 hours at the studio

Team size

How many people can we accommodate?

• Maximum 5 participants for wheel courses
• Maximum 16 participants for hand-building courses

To keep your pieces… or simply play around

We offer two general packages to choose from for your team-building course:

1. You can join us simply to get an intro to clay skills and experiment and leave your experiments in the studio when you leave or
2. You can choose to add our firing service. Leave the hard work to us! We will fire, glaze, and finish your ceramic creations for you to be picked up a few weeks after your workshop
