Clayground Berlin is excited to offer a masterclass by Texas-based Adam Knoche.
Over these three days, Adam will demonstrate techniques used in hand building, and surface decoration along with using greenware as a mold. Apart from hand-building sculptural vessels using pinching, coiling, and slab techniques, the workshop will focus on the use of dry clay and pulverized materials as an original means of decorating ceramics. The use of pulverizing clay into powder to create fractured and raw surfaces is a new technique that will give your ceramic work a unique and authentic aesthetic.
Adam will demonstrate how to use glazes to create vibrant, drip-like effects on the surface of the ceramicware.
After the initial demonstration, you will have the opportunity to work along with the artist to create your own ceramic artwork using the techniques demonstrated.
As part of the workshop, Adam will also present a lecture on his work and experience.
This is an amazing opportunity to learn new techniques and build on your ceramic experience. At the end of the workshop, students can take home their finished pieces.
